Kent Ridge Tutors is one of the approved tution centres in Singapore. The centre was established in year 1988 and have since expanded to a chain of private school tutoring centres. Currently, they have more than 10 branches located around the hub of Singapore. Most of them are easily reached by buses or MRT as they are all easily accessible and conveniently located in satellite town centres.

They are one of the few tution centres in Singapore that had taught more than 30,000 students. They are popular for their innovative programmes for the school tutors use special tutoring method to teach students with independent ability, proactive learners with the interest, motivation, confidence, discipline, learning skills and habits to excel. Several of their centres featured a tuition cafe/snack bar which encourages group study or simply for parents/students to lounge around.

Unlike many other tution centres in Singapore, Kent Ridge teachers take a different lifestyle approach to teach the next generation of students. Taking your children to the tution centre is like an outing for the family, where parents can go shopping picking up groceries and run errands while the children attend lessons.

Besides tution, the centre also has other lessons like:
1) Enrichment programmes – phonics & phonetics, creative writing, speech & drama, etc.
2) K1 / K2 preparation classes- for the young learners who are going into Primary school.
3) Preparation classes for foreign students – placement tests & schools selection.
4) Child Psychology & Counseling sessions for the child that are in-need of any help.
And many others.

With so many other tution centres in Singapore, Kent Ridge Tutors is fast ahead. They always come out with new and innovative ideas, and with exciting opportunities that can take their educational business to the next level, both locally and overseas.

Hi ! I’m being taught by Mr. Chok now. I’m taking the Secondary 1 December math holiday course before school starts next year. Mr. Chok is a good and fun teacher but he goes at a slightly fast pace. He is mostly fast paced when teaching a new subject but is good at explaining things in depth. I’m not sure what levels he teaches but I’m guessing he teacher secondary 1 onwards. He teaches mainly at the Toa Payoh , white sands and marine parade branches.

    Dear Sir,

I would like to send my daughter for a one month experience in a 100% english teaching class for English, Creative Writings, Math and Science subjects this June/July 2011.
The objective is not so much in taking the examination but for her to grasp hold of real experience in such classes. She was granted admission this Fall 2011 into Seattle Central Community College. Please advise if your school would have such services.

    Thanks

My children are taking the MathQuest tuition programme at KRTC. The teacher is strong on concept development. He is also a fun person with the children and they respond to his method of teaching. The grades may not immediately jump but I saw my children’s interest for the subject grew and the motivation to learn was sustained. They are now excelling in Math.

I think it is referring to the Ridge Tutors that is located in Kovan – Serangoon Gardens is the zone area for Kovan.

Dear Parents, can share if the teachers in Toa Payoh Branch are good ? Thanks.

    [Reply]

    Lawrence Po Reply:

    Sim,

I can say is good. My two sons had been with Kent Ridge Tutors for a few years now. The reason I still put them there because I see great improvement in their final exam results. As a parent, I am still very happy with their standard.

In fact, I believe I asked my sons to ask quite a number of questions near the exam periods and the tutors are still very patience to answer all of them even though I know they are very busy with others subjects too. So far so good. I recommend this tuition center to everyone.

KRTC Simei has a group of fantastic teachers. My 3 children have been with them since 2006 from Primary to Secondary. There have been no change in the teaching staff so far…. unlike the previous centre I enrolled my children to, they kept changiing teachers within few months of even weeks…

Do you mean the one who is always shouting at the students?
I also happened to see him arguing with a parent/tutor in view of everyone that pass by.

    Sue Reply:

I know what you mean. My girl was with him for about 3 months. She told me that instead of teaching, he was outside of the classroom most of the time, either talking to the counter staff or parents that come for enquirers. I guess he wants to double up as a counter staff. In the end, my girl asked for a transfer to another teacher which is much more responsible.

Kent Ridge has started a premium centre in Novena. very small class size. you get regular feedback and are able to know how your child progress. Tutors even give free lessons for weaker students. You can try out this premium centre. Almost all the best tutors are there. My son signed 3 subjects, all improved. And seems like the same feedback from other parents too.

My child is taught by the boss, I want to meet up with him to find out more about my son’s progress but he has no time for me at all. Later I found out from the admin staff, telling me that there are many parents waiting to see the boss, so I have to queue up and wait for my turn. I don’t think the boss will meet all parents if not he will be super busy :(
